Imam al-Bayhaqi

A persons honour and dignity are sacrosanct


During the Prophets farewell speech, he, upon him be peace, said: Surely your blood, your possessions and your honour are sacrosanct like the sacred nature of this day, in this month in this city. (Bukhri and Muslim)

Spreading scandal about peoples honour will lead to punishment


Those who love (to see) scandal published broadcast among the Believers, will have a grievous penalty in this life and in the Hereafter: Allah knows, and ye know not. (al-Nr 24:19)

Making false accusations is one of the deadly sins


The Messenger said: stay away from the seven deadly sins. It was said: O Messenger of Allah what are they? He said: " . Polytheism, magic, murder, consuming the wealth of the orphan, consuming usury, fleeing the battlefield and accusing the righteous believing women. (Bukhri)

The worst accusation is that of disbelief


The Messenger, upon him be peace, said: "" Reviling a Muslim is an inequity and killing him is disbelief And: Let no man accuse another of inequity or disbelieve, lest if he be mistaken, he be himself as he says. (al-Bukhri)

It is better to hide the faults of others


The Messenger of Allah, said: Whoever sees a fault and hides it, it is as if he gave life to baby girl killed murdered for her gender. (Bukhri in his Adab, Abu Dawd and al-Hkim)

Supplication
He also said: Whoever hides the faults of his brother, Allah will hide his faults on the Day of Judgement. Whoever exposes the faults of his brother, Allah will expose his faults on the Day of Judgement.
May Allah hide our faults and protect us and honour. Amin.
