“Special Delivery”
Dear Brave Starport Adventures,

I am the mermaid Agaricia from the Merqueen Kingdom in the Realm of the Seven Seas. A month ago, a
great beast crept out of the depths of the ocean and hid itself near our kelp fields. Now we cannot harvest
our food, and every day the beast creeps closer to our city. Our greatest warrior have been unable to drive
it away, and Queen Tempestua would like your assistance.

Will you be able to come and banish this beast from the Enchanted Sea where we live? If not, we will truly
starve in upcoming months of winter.

“The Enchanted Sea is just past the Pelgia Ocean, straight south of where we are now. I don’t know how you woul
find the Merqueen’s Kingdom from there, but I’m pretty sure you all will have no problem figuring it out. You will,
course, need a boat, ship, or …. Wait! Hero Boy might take his submarine! He hangs out all the time in the Kids Clu

You feel like you just entered a

library. Shelves of line the wall,
and the place has a strong, old book
smell. Kids are everywhere walking
around, sitting at tables, reading
and chatting. You also see through
the back window a few kids
kicking a ball around. Hero Boy,
though, is easy to find since he is
the only one wearing a cape.

How do you proceed?

“Sure,” he says, “I can take you –

no problem.”
Hero Boy takes you to the docks of the Pelgia Ocean. “That’s the one,” he says, pointing to
an old rusty submarine as he leads you towards the water, “but it’s a lot nicer on the inside,
you’ll see.” He opens the hatch, motioning you down. As you descend, you can hear him
sealing the hatch up tightly, and rejoins you at the bottom. “Welcome aboard!”
“Just take a seat, relax, and enjoy the view,” Hero Boy says. “We will be passing the Pelagia’s
Coral Reef Gardens on our way to the Enchanted Sea, and it certainly is a sight to see.”
As you descend down into the Pelagia Ocean, your
stomach lurks. But after a minute, you relax, and
enjoy the beautiful view from your porthole.
When the garden of blooming coral reefs finally appears for the first time, you are quick to
agree with Hero Boy: it really is amazing.
 Amazing, that is, until the ocean begins to darken.
A cloud of dark silt starts to settle across the coral. It blocks the windows and scrambles the sensors
of the submarine as it negotiates a particularly tricky series of reefs.

Hero Boy brief loses control briefly, and the submarine plunging down into the dark.
Just as Hero Boy regains control, you begin to hear
sounds of rushing water.

The submarine has sprung a leak!

How do you proceed?
 Suddenly, on the submarine’s communicator, Ardenis, the warden of the coral reef gardens,
appears. “The currents suggest the silt came from a nearby industrial zone, but there are dozens of
factories there, and it could have been any of them,” she explains. “Your submarine is the closest. I
need you to investigate what is going on.”
How do you proceed?
 Scientist needed. Analyze the silt to see if it contains any clues by solving the puzzle.

Two boxers are in a match scheduled for 12 rounds. (Pure boxing only - no kicking, UFC
takedowns, or anything else). One of the boxers gets knocked out after only six rounds,
yet no man throws a punch. How is this possible?

The boxers were women.

 An analysis of the silt itself reveals that it is likely the result of mining operations.
That narrows the list of culprits.
A year ago, the Degradon Corporation tried to buy the gardens to mine them for gold, but
Ardenia refused. That may be a good place to start.
 Coordinates for the Degradon Corporation are entered.
You must be able to solve the following puzzle to stay on the right path.
You follow the clues to a very large ‘research’ station owned by the Degradon Mining Corporation.
Hero Boy will stay aboard the submarine to complete the repairs.
 A Joke Troll as a receptionist?
He will gladly tell you where to go – if only you can make him laugh!
 Dr. Trex Degradon does not appear
friendly. He looks you up and down
before replying briskly, “What have
you come for? I am very busy at the
moment with my engineering project,
and you are in the way!”
 “Of course, I want to mine the coral
gardens for gold! But in order to do that,
I would have to get rid of the coral.
Luckily, I have been able to engineer
massive clouds of silt to take care of that
problem.” Before you can respond, you
are seized with powerful metal arms.
 Dr. Degradon stalks
away to finish the job
he had started early.
If only you can escape
the robots, you might
be able to stop this
disaster.
The robots are not as
easy to defeat as you
first thought and are
now trying to hurl you
into a giant mining
machine!
If only you could break into the computer system and locate the mining control system!

A farmer has 19 sheep on his land. One day, a big storm hits and all but seven run

As you make your through the
corridors, more robots appear,
each with a mining laser they
are aiming at you!
 Finally, out of breath from running, you arrive at the
securely sealed mining control centre. Will you be able
even to enter? It is asking for a secret code word.

As you type in the secret code word SMILE,
the doors slide open only to revel …

Now that Dr. Degradon is subdued, your next step is to stop the massive clouds of silt that is
being released. But the computer is locked! Can you over-ride such a complicated system?
Success! Back in the submarine, though the Pelagia Ocean is still murky, it is already clearing up.
You have stopped what could have been a horrible disaster.
 Ardenia is grateful when you contact her on the telecommunicator.
“We should be able to repair the coral garden; you were able to stop the pollution just in time.”
A short while later, Hero Boy informs you that you have crossed in the Realm of the Seven Seas.

“Remember: the Seven Seas are pirate seas, each one with its own notoriety,” Hero Boy
explains. “The Dead Men’s Sea have pirates who could not even be stopped by death
while the Golden Sea is a pirate paradise of treasure islands and raucous taverns. The
Mirror Sea is a cursed sea where no wind blows and no wave stirs on the surface, the
Sea of Beasts is full of sea-monsters and perilous creatures, the Sunken Sea is where all
pirate ships that sinks ends up, and the Sea of Ancients is said to have lost temples and
forgotten treasures hidden on its islands..”
 “The Enchanted Sea is a place where magic and mystery abound,” Hero Boy
says. “Like everywhere in the Realm of the Seven Seas, the Enchanted Sea has
pirates but instead of boats they use flying carpets.”

“I dare not stay too long here, but I will drop you off at the Emerald Post. You
should be able to get a ship from there to take you to Mermaid’s Trail.”

As you walk inside, the first thing you hear is a chorus of “Hello
Beautiful!” from several birdcages hanging from the ceiling, each
containing a different style of parrot and all of which can talk.
There are pirate swords and cannons, clothes such as hats, eyepatches,
dresses, and pants, and even a selection for rings, necklaces, earrings
and hooked hands. A usually tall mouse pirate makes his way to you,
looks you us and down, and say, “May I help you find something?”
