Introduction
 Quality of work life is the quality of relationship between employees and total work environment,
concern for the impact of work on individuals as well as on organizational effectiveness and the
idea of participation in organizational problem solving and decision making.

 The success of every organization is highly dependent on the utilization of organizational goals. To
achieve organizational goal, individual goals have to be satisfied, in that Quality of work life
directly contributes to the utilization, development and achievement of organization and human
resource goals. The research model for this study was based on the factors affecting Quality of
work- life and the relationships between QWL and satisfaction of the employees in the Private
Limited Companies.

 For different industries, organizations and individuals there exist different set of factors, which
influence the quality of work life and in turn motivate or demotivate the employees.
Need of the study

 This study is needed to ensure that all employees are performing at their peak potential,

free from stress and strain, and to ensure all their needs are fully satisfied which leads

to employee satisfaction. This study will be used as feedback from employees to know

their current perspective of workplace and also to identify the areas of improvement for

the organization.
Scope of the study

 It represents concern for the human dimensions of work and relates to job satisfaction
and organisational development.

 The study provides a base for understanding the employee problems and
provides possible remedies for it.

 This study is emphasizing on the work life needs and the quality of the work
in order to face and resolve a low performance by employees.
Objective of the study

 PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

 To study the about the quality of work life balance of employees in ZF Rane
Automotive India Pvt Ltd-steering Gear Division, Guduvancheri, Chennai.

 SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:

 To assess the factors affecting the quality of work life.

 To study the impact of stress on the quality of work life of employees.

 To determine the level of employees’ satisfaction in the organisation.

Identification of the Problem

 Lately the expression “quality of work life” has been increased to define the humanistic

and the environmental values that are ignored by industrialized societies in terms of

technology advancement, industrial productivity, and economic growth. Nevertheless,

dissatisfaction has always been a problem in working life, and it always affects all the

employees unrelatedly to their position or grade.

Company Profile
 Independent and comprehensive units to design, test and manufacture a complete rang
of power steering solutions and seat belt systems.

 Occupant safety division serves passenger car, utility vehicle & commercial vehicle
segments.

 Seat belt manufacturing facility added in 1997.

 Established dominant share of business in both commercial vehicle steering and

passenger car steering industry.

 Both divisions have joint venture partnership with TRW Automotive JV LLC,USA

 Preferred OE partner to Indian OE majors in passenger car, multi utility vehicle, light
commercial vehicle, medium and heavy commercial vehicle categories.

Work Life of the Engineering College Faculty Members in Coimbatore District “in
their study The impact of the Quality of Work Life of the faculty members is highly
notable and it influences not only the institutions but also the students who are the
future building blocks of the nation. The present study concludes that there is a
moderate level of Quality of Work Life is found among the faculty members.
