Introduction
⚫ Low-light image enhancement using Conditional Generative
Adversarial Networks (cGANs)
⚫ Challenges in low-light images: poor visibility, high noise levels,
loss of details

Problem Statement
⚫ Current methods for enhancing low-light images produce unsatisfactory
results.
⚫ There is a need for an optimized technique that can effectively handle
challenges like noise, illumination, and contrast in low-light images.
⚫ Traditional image processing techniques are insufficient, and exploring
advanced deep learning approaches like cGANs is necessary.
⚫ Limited availability of paired low-light and well-exposed image datasets
hinders progress in enhancing low-light images.

based techniques is necessary.

Objectives of the research
Broad Objective: The broad objective of this topic is to develop an
effective method using cGANs to enhance the quality of low-light images
by improving visibility, reducing noise, and preserving details.
Specific Objectives:
⚫ Design and implement a cGAN-based model for enhancing low-light
images by addressing challenges such as noise reduction, contrast
enhancement, and detail preservation.
⚫ Take a large-scale dataset of paired low-light and well-exposed images
for training and evaluating the model.
⚫ Optimize the computational efficiency of the cGAN model for real-time
low-light image enhancement applications and evaluate its performance
using objective metrics and user studies. 5

⚫ This paper focuses on residual learning problem that is to estimate the residual
between low-light and normal-light images.

Conclusion
⚫ The study demonstrates the effectiveness of conditional
generative adversarial networks (cGANs) for low-light image
enhancement, resulting in improved visual quality, enhanced
brightness, and increased details in low-light images.
⚫ The comparison with existing methods highlights the
superiority of cGAN-based approaches in restoring low-light
