What is Metaphysics?

Is a branch of philosophy which deals with the


questions regarding reality and existence. Derived
from the Greek word meta ta physika(“after the
things of nature”);referring to an idea, doctrine, or
posited reality outside of human sense perception.

Three Main Branches of Metaphysics:

 Ontology- is the study of what there is or what exist.

 Natural Theology- is the study of God, including the


religion and the world, existence of the divine, questions
about creation, and other religious or spiritual issues.

 Universal Science- the study of first principles of logic


and reasoning.
Metaphysics example questions:

 What is existence and reality?

 What is the nature of space and time?

 What is the nature of mind and matter? How can they


relate?
