Service Qualifications
• Install, Parts and SMG guides should have many “Cautions” to ensure reduced ESD and cable damage.
• Advisory: The Magnetic Scanner Reader (MSR) designed into the ElitePOS terminal has an optional encryption functionality. HP
has partnered with IDTECH Products to perform key injection services remotely. For more information about their service contact
the IDTECH Products sales team at Sales@idtechproducts.com.
• Advisory: Unit won’t Power on self Test (POST). Displays 3 red and 4 white led code. PUSB power communication cable (type-C
cable) plugged into wrong PUSB outlet on HUB. Unit won’t POST and you see 3 red and 4 white LED code. No sound or display
occurs just the LED code.
• Back of head unit: Connection for communication cable. This connector attaches to the back of the system board. You will need to
remove the connector cover if you need to replace system board see the Maintenance Service Guide - Removing the system board
section for further information.
• Thermaltake BlacX 5G (HDD Docking Station) is not compatible on ElitePOS with HUB. Suggest customers use a different
external storage device, such as CyberSlim S1-Ds3 Plus as an alternative. Only provide this information if a customers wants to
know which external power storage device is compatible for their purchase.
• I/O Connectivity Hubs - Only the HP ElitePOS Basic and Advanced I/O Connectivity Hubs are supported. Third Party hubs or
Mini Hubs are not supported. Third Party hubs do not provide the correct power source. BIOS supports configuration on ports for
the ElitePOS Basic I/O Connectivity Base and Advanced I/O Connectivity Base. This functionality is not supported with
other products.
