literature is literature from the
diverse nations from the east such as china,
japan, korea, mongolia and taiwan. it is unique,
usually poetry is made and it shows the culture,
social and political factors in each country
examples of notable east asian literature from the countries listed:

CHIN
The romance of the three kingdoms by luo guanzhong.

what is it about? it is set towards the end of the han dynasty
and how they unified after the destruction of it. it is part
historical and part fictional. it has a total of 800,000 words
and 120 chapters.
JAPAN
The sarashina nikki or the sarashina diary by the daughter of takasue of lady
sarashina.

what is it about? it is a memoir about her and her travels.


she had written this because she wanted to produce
something worthy for her family line. this diary recorded
her life from the age of 12 to her fifties.
KORE

struggles with living through that time and it
holds patriotic ideals.
TAIWAN
the ugly chinaman by bo yang or guo yidong
what is it about? it is a book that he made that is quite controversial. it
touches critically on chinese culture. it originated from a speech bo
yang delivered in 1984. it is compiled as a book with other essays and
readers’ letters. due to how controversial it was, it underwent numerous
reprints.
