Sea Sunday
Gospel Meditation
Matthew 14:23-33

Every year, Churches round the world

celebrate Sea Sunday.
It’s a time, set aside to pray for those who
work at sea. A way to express solidarity
towards them and draw attention to the
important work they do and celebrate them.
What do
Seafarers do?
What do
seafarers do?
•They sustain the economy.
•90% of the world’s food, raw
material and manufactured goods
are delivered by sea.
•Also, they deliver for rescue
missions.

Can the world do without them?

Not an easy role

• No Wifi
• Far away from family
• No social life
• Storms / Cold weather
• War zones
• Health Hazards
• Lack of proper meals
Much gratitude to them
Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus,
who can quiet the storm and bring calmness; Please
show those who call to you, that you hear their prayer
and will protect them.

Protect and provide for Seafarers. Take them on a safe

journey and also look after their families back home.
Keep them strong and courageous.

Bless the work of their hands. Let their work be very

fruitful, even in these hard times.
Prayer
Guide the government and people in
more ways to support them.

Also, Lord Jesus hear our prayers in St

Ursula. Be with us and help us to
remember, that you journey with us,
through life. At School or at home. You
are ever present, no matter the storm.

We ask that you bring us all, to the safety

of the port in our lives.
Amen
