1. Take out your notebooks and find your worksheet on Macbeth’s


character.

• Read through the notes you have made.


• Add extra details about the quotes you have
chosen.

Explore how Shakespeare presents Macbeth.
Checklist:
1. Read the extract and underline quotes which give you information
about Macbeth’s character.
2. Based on the underlined quotes, make 2 points about Macbeth’s
character (what type of person is he?).
3. Write your two ideas down on the planning sheet.
4. Match your chosen quotes to these two points (aim for 3 quotes per
point).
5. Discuss (talk about) the meaning of the words in your chosen quotes
and link them to the point you are making about Macbeth.

Begin your paragraph with a sentence about the first point
you have on your plan.

Write a sentence with the quote in it which follows on
logically from your point above.

Write about the quote in more detail. Explain it. Look at

Write a final sentence linking the ideas in your paragraph to the question.
