Child marriage is the formal or informal marriage of a minor. The legal
age of marriage is 18, especially for girls. But in special cases marriage
is allowed before this age subject to parental permission

School Teachers, Students
 Parents and other persons involved in child marriage can also be brought
under this Act.According to Section 8 of this Act, "A parent, guardian or
any other person, legally or extralegally having authority over a minor,
does or permits or directs any act in the performance of a child marriage
or fails to terminate the marriage due to his own negligence." If so, it shall
be a crime and for this he shall be liable to imprisonment for a term not
exceeding 2 (two) years and not less than 6 (six) months or a fine not
exceeding 50 (fifty) thousand taka or both and in default of payment of the
fine shall be liable to imprisonment not exceeding 3 (three) months."
