Primary education

It covers a period of six years


from the age of 6 to 12 and is
usually taught in single-sex, co-
educational, or government-run
schools.
Secondary education

Secondary education is usually taught


in government-run or private schools
and is divided into two stages: Junior
Secondary (Years 7-9) and Senior
Secondary (Years 10-12).
Tertiary education

It is offered by universities, TAFEs


(Technical and Further Education),
and other institutions. Tertiary
education includes undergraduate
and postgraduate degree programs,
vocational education and training
(VET) courses, and English language
courses.
