1. Desktop
This is the working area of Windows. It is where we
work with the windows containing the application
window, a document window, and a directory window.

bordered element. All
applications or programs run
inside a window.

• Application Window is where an application or a


program runs. This type of window is placed on top of
the desktop.

• Document Window is a window containing the file


you are working on within an application.

2. Start Button

These buttons allow you to start a program


you want to open.

3. Taskbar
This is located at the bottom of the screen. This
bar holds the switch buttons of any open running
programs at the same time.

This icon represents everything about your


computer.

Recycle Bin
• This icon is the temporary storage of
deleted files.

• These icon represents the program,
Internet Web Browser.

It is part of the taskbar where you can see the
system clock.
