INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE
TOPIC
As the name suggests, we are
going to discuss about how maths
and mandala art are related, their
similarities and their concepts.
MANDALA ART
A mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Asian cultures. It can be
understood in two different ways: externally as a visual representation of the
universe or internally as a guide for several practices that take place in many
Asian traditions, including meditation. In Hinduism and Buddhism, the belief is
that by entering the mandala and proceeding towards its center, you are guided
through the cosmic process of transforming the universe from one of suffering
into one of joy and happiness.
However In New Age, the mandala is a diagram, chart or geometric pattern that
represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a time-microcosm of the
universe, but it originally meant to represent wholeness and a model for the
organizational structure of life itself.
MANDALA ART
MATHEMATICS
Mathematics includes the study of
such topics as quantity, structure,
space, and change. It has no
generally accepted definition.
Mathematicians seek and use
patterns to formulate new
conjectures; they resolve the truth or
falsity of such by mathematical proof.
RELATION BETWEEN MATHS
AND MANDALA ART
Mandalas translate complex
mathematical expressions into
simple shapes and forms. The
shapes that are formed from these
divisions are symbols that embody
the mathematical principles found
throughout creation. They reveal the
inner workings of nature and the
inherent order of the universe.
