Introduction
The Commonwealth Games is a multinational, multi-sport event which features competitions involving thousands of elite athletes. Organized every four years. They are the third-largest multi-sport event in the world, after the Summer Olympic Games and the Asian Games. Motto HUMANITY EQUALITY DESTINY. Headquarters :- London, United Kingdom. The first Games were held in 1930 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The name changed to British Empire and Commonwealth Games in 1954, to British Commonwealth Games in 1970 and assumed the current name of the Commonwealth Games in 1978

Commonwealth Games - Delhi (2010)


The 2010 Commonwealth Games are the nineteenth Commonwealth Games, and the ninth to be held under that name. The Games are scheduled to be held in Delhi, India between 3 October and 14 October 2010. The games will be the largest multi-sport event conducted to date in Delhi and India. The opening ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi. It will also be the first time the Commonwealth Games will be held in India and the second time the event has been held in Asia (after 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

COMPETITION VENUES
Existing and new stadiums in Delhi will be used to house the sports during the Games

The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi. Measure Performance
After the standards were established and implemented, it was seen that the performance expected was not attained. Due to this, many problems and difficulties had to be faced.

Incomplete event venues Serial stadium malfunction Dengue and malaria fears General mayhem, including theft of imported fittings at the Games Village. Water Logged Tennis court. Health Infrastructure Security Issues.

Corrective Action
Each officer is allocated a stadium and given the responsibility to ensure that the work completes in time for the games. A round the-clock disaster management control room has been set up by the government. Opening of Chattarpur Metro station. 400 designated spots for auto rickshaws in Delhi. Cancelling Leave for all MCD employees. CWG Disaster management planning.

Corrective Action
Provide high level security (NSG commandos, MARCOS, army, CRPF, commando force, etc).

Take measures to maintain proper hygienic environment, prevent dengue, malaria, etc.

Hop-on hop-off bus service. Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses which will be used during the Commonwealth games.

Specially trained dogs to be deployed for CWG.
