Entrepreneurship Development Program covers the entire venture creation process, from idea generation to building viable global businesses, with special emphasis on the nurturing roles of corporations, universities, governments, and foundations. Using entrepreneurial culture as a model, participants learn what they need to know in order to develop ideas into successful businesses and to increase entrepreneurial opportunities in their corporations, institutions, and regions.
Objectives:
Develop and strengthen entrepreneurial quality Analyze environmental set up relating to small industry and small business Select product Formulate project Understand the process and procedures Know the sources of help and support Acquire necessary managerial skills Know the pros and cons in becoming entrepreneur
Focus of EDP
EDPs should help develop latent facilities of those who possess the potential of becoming entrepreneurs. Understanding the type of input that are required by a group of entrepreneurs should be understood clearly & the training program tailored accordingly. Training be not only to set up an industrial venture but also to enable the trainees to run it successfully.
The focus should be on the persons rather than on the project. These programs should be conducted in place where necessary infrastructure for training is available. One of the objective of training should be on changing the attitude & mindset of young people from security oriented activities to risk taking activities.
THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (Niesbud) The need for an apex body to co-ordinate the training programmes of various centers and organisations in the country. To train a large number of trainers and motivators in ED. To prepare model syllabuses of training for various target groups and areas, etc.., NIESBUD is Delhi based , a Govt of India organization. It oversees activities of various institutions and agencies engaged in ED, particularly in small industry and small business.
