The K-12 program is a curriculum in the Philippines which

covers Kindergarten and 12 years of Basic Education (6 years
of primary education, 4 years of Junior High School and 2
years of Senior High School(SHS) to provide sufficient time for
mastery of concepts and skills to develop lifelong learners,
prepare graduates for tertiary education.

What is the Purpose of K-12 Curriculum?

K-12 system aims to improve Filipino students 'skills in

mathematics, science, linguistics to further exhibit
competence in the global job market. With the new
curriculum, the Department of Education promises to
offer higher quality education through the strands.

OBSERVATIONS
Since we became part of the curriculum
or we are the first product of k-12
curriculum, we can say that there are lot
of differences with regards on
“development’’.
As for our experiences and observations,
K- 12 has a lot of benefits, effects and
advantage. The following are:
- It helps us students especially teachers
to develop our skills and abilities for
more essential and effective learning to
happen.

- The involvement of technology in learning which

has a big impact to the learning processes
because it helps us to develop our knowledge and
skills to attain a happy and interesting learning.
- It provides holistic education for all students,
which means that students improves
communication skills and social skills and increase
positive interactions. Moreover, it helps us to gain
more knowledge and experiences through hands-
on activities which will be essential in the future.

Observations to Curriculum Framework

- - Every schools and universities has curriculum guide,
VMGO( Vision, Mision, goals, and Objectives) to attain, therefore
the curriculum framework serves as a guide of every school to
plan and make learning experiences more attainable and that
VMGO should be reached too.
- - as of our observations and experiences this help attain the
given objectives of the school and on how to deal with good
relationships between teachers and students which is another
key to obtain the learning outcomes.
- - Moreover, changes to the curriculum guide/framework happens
when there is a development and improvement of the students
and teachers and the school itself.
