Adjectives ending in ed or ing


Many adjectives that end in -ing and -ed present some difficulties for the foreign students of the English language. Many times students find it hard to decide on which adjective to use.

EXAMPLES
Mike is bored because his job is boring... I am interested in politics, because I consider politics interesting! His designation is surprising, so we are all surprised

When something is(........ -ing) then it makes you (......-ed)! If that something is surprising....it makes you surprised ; if that something is boring, it makes you bored; if that something is interesting, it makes you interested in it. Someone is interested...because someone or something is interesting. He is interested in music and sports. Look...This is indeed interesting ...

Someone is surprised maybe because something is surprising... I am surprised that you passed your driving test... It is surprising...You have finally graduated! Someone may be tired because something is tiring... She is always tired at the end of the week. Working with the computer is a very tiring job.
