Issues, Challenges and Opportunities

y Issues:

- So far little advocacy for improvement of governance in waste management - Lacking practical strategies on how to move towards paradigm shift in cultural practices for waste management in communities through awareness building - Lacking resources for promoting volunteerism in the waste management field
y Challenges:

- Mainstreaming with governments plans and actions through coordination and cooperation at local level - Providing adequate technical and logistic support for coordination with community based local organizations for management of advocacy campaigns through volunteers
y Strengths and opportunities:

Multidisciplinary team of green action in place; high motivation of the team; gaining public support in the field; community based organizations working scattered but can be networked with some support in logistics and technical management at the center.
