SOM Abu Dhabi is keen to jointly undertake the ABB s SOLAR AUGMENTATION research project with the help of the National research Fund grant. This grant is given to Institutions who are nationally accredited and based on the viability of the project.

Project Proposal
Project title: Market Potential for Solar Augmentation of Power Projects in UAE.

Project Objectives: To access the market potential of combining a solar field with existing power plants with the retrofit approach in UAE.

Project Objectives
 To find out the Demographics of Power plants ( no., size, type, capacity, load curves)  To Assess the power generation cost.  To find out the Space availability for a solar plan using Fresnel collectors.  Carrying out a Bench Mark (Competitor) analysis to find out the efficiency of the power plants.  To collect the data, analyze and interpret the data through which we will forecast the market potential .

An MOU, as per the guidelines of NRF. A dedicated Member to join our team to jointly carry out this research. Technical and logistics support, when ever required.
