ABSTRACT
It is well known that the lower part of the human body plays an important role in mobility. But there are people who suffer from certain disorders which affect their lower part by birth or by some unfavorable situations. Keeping that in mind this project aims at creating a wheel chair that can aid those people for their movements very easily.

AIM OF THE PROJECT


The aim of the project is to provide a means for operating the wheel chair with minimal effort. In this project Only slight finger movements are needed. This greatly minimizes the physical effort needed to operate the wheel chair. People with partial paralysis, dumb people can also make use of this wheel chair model effectively.

Advantages
y This type of Wheel chair can be used by physically disabled people,

aged people with minimal effort.


y Dumb people can use this type of wheel chair. y Only slight finger movement is enough to operate the chair. y The sensor can be fixed in finger ,palm, hand and etc.,

Result & Discussion


Thus the sensor MMA1260D senses the finger movements and

accordingly the wheelchair movement is controlled.


y For various finger positions (up, down, side) different voltage values

are produced.
y These voltage values are then fed to the microcontroller to control

the wheelchair.

Conclusion and Future Work


Thus this wheel chair can help people in their movement with minimal efforts. This project can be further enhanced by adopting an obstacle detection system using ultrasonic sensors and a speaker system so that the speaker system can indicate the direction of the movement as well as the obstacles in the pathway. To implement this project for real time applications motors capable of driving more weights should be used.
