create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB
keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc. It can be
especially useful for cases where: you need to
create USB installation media from bootable ISOs
(Windows, Linux, etc.); Rufus is significantly faster
than similar utilities and it's open source and free.
Steps to make a bootable disk using rufus:
STEP 1. Download Rufus.
1. Go to the Rufus official
website and download the
latest version of Rufus.

portable tool, so it doesn’t
require installation. Simply
download and run the .exe
file.

1. Plug in the USB drive you

want to use as the
bootable device.
2. Ensure that the USB has
enough storage (at least 8

that all important data is
backed up, as the process
will erase all data on the
drive.
STEP 3. Open Rufus
.

1. Run Rufus by double-

occurs.

the destruction of all data on
the USB. Confirm by clicking
OK.

bootable USB. This may take
several minutes, depending
on the size of the ISO file and
the speed of your USB drive.

the message READY in Rufus,
indicating that the USB drive
is now bootable.
