Stephenie Meyer

J.K. Rowling

Twilight is a series of four vampire based fantasy, romance novels by Stephenie Meyer. It charts a period in the life of Isabella Bella Swan, a teenage girl who moves to Forks, Washington and falls in love with 104 year old vampire named Edward Cullen.

Harry Potter is a series of seven fantasy novels written by J.K.Rowling. The books chronicle the adventures of the adolescent wizard, Harry Potter and his best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, all of whom are students at Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Concerning the title of the

books in Twilight we can see that each title has a special meaning, whereas in Harry Potter the titles only inform us about what we would read further, it emphasis the object or person around which is centered the plot.

The hate Harry feels is towards Voldemort for killing his parents.

One of the main themes is HATE.

A theme illustrated more powerfully in Twilight is LOVE. Twilight is a story of forbidden love. Because Edward is a vampire and Bella a human, Edward technically should consider Bella his prey.On the other hand in Harry Potter love appears in the fourth book, but it evolves into a kiss only in the sixth book when Harry and Ginny fell in love.

The theme of SUPERNATURAL is mostly the same because neither vampires nor wizards and witches exist in the real world, or we can better say that we dont want to think they are real. That makes them supernatural.

One encountered theme is CHOICE One choice is the defining aspect of the Cullens, the good vampires, is that theyve chosen to suppress their natural desire for human blood, and they only feed on animals and the other is the choice Bella has to make between Jacob and Edward.

Harry must always choose between whether to do the right thing for him or for the others.

Sirius Black

One of the first similarities we encounter is the idea of shape shifters. In Harry Potter Sirius Black can transform himself into an Animagus, a dog, and in The Twilight Saga Jacob Black and some descendents of the Quilleute tribe are able to transform themselves into giant wolves.

Jacob Black

Thanks to their world wide success, both series were adapted and made into movies.

The Twilight Sagas language is very easy, and at hand for everyone, without using invented words, whereas in Harry Potter we encounter more complex language and a wide range of new invented words like: Dementors, pensive, Quiddich, etc. Both novels have gained a special place in the British and American literature and, will not be easily forgotten.

Voldemort

"Stephenie Meyer, in particular, has achieved incredible success across all the English-speaking nations and Europe and many will say that her Twilight series has filled the hole left by Harry Potter."
