Voice
Voice refers to the form of a verb that shows whether the
subject performs the action (active) or receives the action
(passive).
Voice হলো Verb এর গঠণ যার দ্বারা Subject নিজে কিছু করে
বা অন্যের কাজ তার উপর এসে পড়ে তা বুঝায় ।

Active Voice: The subject of the sentence performs the
action expressed by the verb.
Subject → Verb → Object
My mother (subject) cooked (verb) the dinner. (object)
1. The dog chases the cat.

Importance of Active
Voice
• Active voice is used in writing and speaking because it is
direct and clear.
• Active voice focus on the doer of the action.
• Active voice tends to be more engaging and dynamic.
• Active voice often results in shorter, more concise
sentences.
The firefighter saved the cat.
The cat was saved by the firefighter.
Passive
Voice
Passive Voice: The subject of the sentence receives the
action expressed by the verb.
Subject → Auxiliary Verb → Past Participle → (by +
Object)
The mouse (subject) was chased (verb) by the cat
(object).
1. The cat was chased by the dog.
2. The homework was completed by her.
3. The lesson was explained by the teacher.
Importance of Passive
Voice
• Passive voice is used in scientific and formal writing to
maintain objectivity and focus result.
• Passive voice is emphasize the action or the recipient of
the action.
• When the doer of the action is unknown or not important,
passive voice is useful.
• The writer wrote the book.
The Book was written by the writer.
