I- When to use
a. To describe actions happening right now (at the moment of
speaking)

Example:
They are learning English at the moment.
(At present, they are studying English.)
b. To describe planned future events (especially near future).
Usually refers to a scheduled or arranged plan.

Example:
We are having a big birthday party next weekend.
(We will have a big birthday party this coming weekend.)
c. To describe repeated actions that are annoying or
frustrating to the speaker.
Often used with adverbs like “always,”
“continually.”
Example:
"You are always coming late," said the teacher.
(The teacher says: "You’re always late.")

d. To describe a temporary change in habit

Example:
I often have bread for breakfast but today I am having cakes and
milk.
(I usually eat bread for breakfast, but today I’m eating cakes and

Negative S + be + not + V-ing
Interrogative: Be + S + + V-ing?
