Geographic

Geographic Australia's landmass is of 7,617,930 square kilometres which is surrounded by Indian and pacific Oceans. It is the smallest continent and the six largest country by area and it is also considered as the worlds largest island. It has a coast line of 34,218 Km and 3,700 km high.

The climate of Australia Varies widely. It is mostly desert and 40 percentage is covered by sand dunes. North east and North west have fertile soils. North has tropical climate and is varied with rain forest and grass lands. Rain also varies frequent droughts and also has very wet season.

Domestic tourism is a significant part of the tourism industry, and was responsible for 73% of the total direct tourism GDP. The 2010-11 financial year saw a record number of overseas arrivals in the financial year, with 5.9 million short-term visitor arrivals to Australia (or 588 extra visitors a day extra). Tourism employed 513,700 people in Australia in 2010-11, or which 43.7% of total tourism employed persons were part time. Tourism also contributed 8.0% of Australia's total export earnings in 201011

AMAZING FACTSSSSSS.

Being the sixth largest country on earth, Australia is around the same size of the 48 mainland states of the USA, in-fact its double the size of Europe and has the lowest population density found anywhere on earth- with the exception of Antarctica- not counting the seals and penguins. Australian's always tease their cousins the New Zealanders for being a bit too friendly to their sheep, but did you know Australia is the Sheep capital of the world? There are over 140 million sheep, that's about 20 per person. Mostly fluffy merinos, which produce more than 70 percent of the world's wool. - that's nothing to baaaaa about!

3) Nothing to moo about either,, Yes Australia is home not only to 140 million sheep it also has 24 million head of cattle.. think of all the burgers!. Australia is the worlds largest exporter of quality beef. 4) No room for Kangaroos,,, Well with that many sheep and cattle you wouldn't think there would be any room for the Australian Icon...the Kangaroo... Well it couldn't be further than the truth.. there are estimated to be 40 million of these fury marsupials jumping around our continent.. Many more than it was estimated being here when white settlement started way back in the 1780's 5) How far is that straight line? Well if you were in the Nullarbor. .'it's a bloody long way' in-fact the longest straight railway line in the world stretches the Nullarbor Plain from Watson in South Australia to Nurina in Western Australia and doesn't make a bend for 478 kilometers.

10) Dropbears, Well you've read we have plenty of sheep, cattle, kangaroos,,, but Dropbears? Well they are an evil species of koala that fall from trees and attack humans. Haven't seen one yet,, but there are lots of Americans who haven't visited here yet who believe the stories
