6 Colour vs. 3 Colour Images

Atomic (z) number identification

Atomic Z-Number Measurement software allows operators to identify the atomic number of a particular object, accurate within 0.2 counts. Using the touchpad mouse, operators drag select an area on a scanned image, and the system will display the atomic number for that region. This feature enables operators to accurately identify material groups and assess threat objects with precision.

Picture Perfect

This feature analyzes and normalizes a scanned image to provide increased visual identification. When picture perfect is activated, an image containing multiple layered objects is adjusted for better distinction between objects and materials. This feature can be utilized in both color and black and white mode.

Image Annotation
This option allows operators to draw
a frame around a suspect area of the scanned image and to enter three alphanumeric letters for reference. Operators can either save the image for later review or transmit the image to a Supervisor Workstation or Suspect Search Station for secondary review.

Screener Assist
The Screener Assist software is a real-time, programmable detection tool to aid in threat assessment and identification. Operators can define up to four ranges of atomic numbers (ZNumbers) of objects they are searching for (i.e., guns). During the screening process, Screener Assist will search for these ranges in real-time, and draw ellipses around areas with the specified atomic numbers.

Threat Image Projection (TIP)

Once activated by the Administrator, TIP integrates various threats into screened images. If the operator perceives the threat, the operator pushes the Suspect button on the control panel to identify the threat. If an operator fails to identify a threat, the system stops and the image flashes on the screen to warn of the missed threat. The data is then accessible to the Administrator to ensure operator efficiency and alertness.

Continuous Diagnostics
Real-time Continuous Diagnostics allows the operators to view the status of the following: Diode Map-out Emergency Buttons Entry and Exit PECs Environmental Temperature Footmat,Conveyor Direction Interlock Switch Machine serial number and model Operator Log Power Key Power Supply Data Relative Humidity Security Validity Software Processes System Uptime System Power On/ Elapsed Time, Total Power-on Time & Operator Time X-ray Generator Power, Internal Power Supplies, AC Voltage & UPS

Remote Access & Diagnostics

Astrophysics offers multi-tiered workstations, including a Remote Workstation, Secondary Review Workstation, and Supervisor Workstation. These are provided at intervals of 15, 100 or 200 feet from the x-ray system for optimized screening flexibility. If Real Time Continuous Diagnostics recognizes a system fault, Remote Diagnostics software instantaneously sends a detailed Fault Log Report the Astrophysics Customer Call Center using Call Home Capability.

System & Connectivity

Windows XP Professional Operating Systemensures greatest interconnectivity. PC system with Intel Core II DUO Technology Processor 3.0 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, USB communication to all its periphery.

Networkable systems which can be incorporated into an existing LAN/WAN.

Imaging
35 mm and 39 mm steel penetration typical for 160 kV &180 kV systems respectively. X-Ray Continuous Imaging for scanning small, thin or low profile objects (i.e. envelopes, CDs, PDAs, etc.)

Other Features
Automatic Image Archiving for up to 50,000. Image Review: permits operators to review the last 100 images scanned in the XIS System.

Save Image as RGB or RAW format with a button for each feature.
Print Image function. Zoom and Pan (Scroll) feature based on cursor location. Nine (9) Quadrant Zoom and Pan (Scroll) Allows zooming and panning (scrolling) based on the quadrant that corresponds to each numeral on the numeric pad.

Additional Software Features

Edge Enhancement: Instantly enhances the outline and shape of each individual item in the screened image to facilitate better operator assessment of potential threats. Multi-tiered Security Options: The XIS system interface features multi-tiered security with different levels of accessibility and unique programmable passwords for each individual operator and administrator.

Additional Software Features

Computer Based Training (CBT): An operator training program with a pre-scanned image library containing various normal and threat images. If this feature is activated, the software will begin scrolling the CBT images, giving operators time to identify the threat by pushing the Suspect button the control panel. If the Operator misses a threat, the system will stop and flash the image. This program is designed for operator practice and training and does not score the operator.
