Gary Pagar leverages his experience in the financial industry to provide mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and strategic advisory services for the global merchant banking firm headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Since joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Pagar has overseen hundreds of millions of dollars in divestitures, acquisitions, and the raising of equity and debt for corporate clients. Gary Pagar joined Cappello Group, Inc. after working for Westwood Capital, LLC in New York City, where he served as a Managing Director for the boutique investment banking advisory firm. Prior to working with Westwood Capital, LLC, Gary Pagar served as Managing Director for Profile Media Group. Throughout his five years with the company, Mr. Pagar oversaw the financing, production, and distribution of feature films, and served in interim positions as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for an independent record label and music venue operator. Mr. Pagar created and initiated a program that generated new capital for the company and restructured existing debt and equity contracts. He also negotiated vendor agreements and creditor settlements to the benefit of the company. At Profile Media Group, Gary Pagar also served as Director and Interim Chief Financial Officer for an independent film production company. He negotiated key contracts, and handled private placement of equity and debt. Additionally, Mr. Pagar made split-rights distribution arrangements with domestic and foreign film distributors, organized co-production deals, and brokered contracts with agents and managers regarding talent and directors. Previously, Gary Pagar served as Chairman of MedFirst Healthcare Inc., a portfolio company of Goldman Sachs' merchant banking arm. Recruiting senior management and securing several hundred million in equity and asset-backed financing, Gary Pagar helped expand the company from a startup to one with over 800 employees in 4 states. Before joining MedFirst Healthcare, Mr. Pagar served as General Partner and Managing Director of the Tribeca Group, a private equity firm, where he focused on investments in consumer products, retail, real estate, and other industries. Gary Pagar began his career at Merrill Lynch & Co., where he worked as an Associate. He has also served as an Associate and Vice President for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. An alumnus of the University of Rochester, he earned his Bachelor of Arts from the institution and served two terms on its Trustees' Council.view less
