    Importance of water to living things Water is also home to many living things. Water is needed to carry out many life process. Green plants need water to make food. At home, water is used for drinking, cooking, washing and cleaning. Water is important to factories and farms. Water can be a source of energy. It can be use to generate electricity.

    Effects of human activities on the quality of water supply. Many human activities pollute the water sources on Earth. Water pollutants come from domestic waste, industrial waste, agricultural activities, mining activities and oil spillages from tanker. These pollutants make water resources dirty and smelly.
