Meet Your School Counselor Lessons

I am doing lessons is the classrooms to introduce students to the school counseling program at Axson. What does a school counselor do? Let me open up my tool kit.

Ask your student what is inside. They may mention some of these items. Tissues A school counselor helps dry your tears when you are feeling sad or overwhelmed. I will remind students that it is ok to cry. Having feelings is a wonderful thing and letting feelings out helps us heal. I am someone you can talk to about situations that bother or upset you. I also love to celebrate accomplishments! Star Wand Sailors have used stars as a guide for many, many years. Like a star, a school counselor is a guide. I can help if you are feeling lost, confused or unsure about how to solve a problem. Peace sign A school counselor teaches about character and conflict resolution and helps students learn to live peacefully. I will be talking to you about peace in future lessons.
