Mga Batang Lansangan Batang Lansangan is a Filipino Street Children.

In the Philippines there are thousands of street children all over the country. Specially in NCR or National capital region. Compose of big cities like Manila, Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, Pasay City, Pasig City, Caloocan City and Makati city. The most numbers of street children or batang lansangan is Quezon city because of its wide area. People came from provinces going to Manila and any other city of NCR. They come to NCR to find jobs and success but amongst of them became urban poor. It adds to the increasing numbers of Population the Capitals city of the Philippines and this resulted to unwanted pregnancies, crimes, squatters, and mostly street children. they were abandoned by thier parents and resulted this street children to engage in crime activities such as pick pocketing, snatching and gang fights. And most of them using rugby drugs such as solvent or rugby, marijuana and shabu. In Manila alone the numbers of street children or Batang lansangan are estimated 85,000. The health issue of Street Children or batang lansangan are increasing because of luck of food they became malnourished, untidy. Street children facing dangerous life everyday living in the streets. They face physical injuries from street fights, car accidents, harassment from extortionist and cops,. There are numbers of street children being sexually exploited by pedophiles, pimps and manics. This children is risk to sexually transmitted diseases. Today there are numbers of NGO that are willing to help this batang lansangan or street children to have a better future. to overcome the psychological effect in living in the street with the help of Department of social welfare development or DSWD.
