Developed curriculum and collaborated with in-class tutors for students in this summer bridge
program designed to help first-generation incoming students succeed at the University of Arizona.

2014 Revised, edited, and solicited material for the Writing Programs FYC textbook. Worked with
contributors, held focus groups, facilitated communication with Hayden-McNeil, and directed the
annual cover art and student essay contests.

2015 Holistic Scoring for Nogales High School Senior Exit Essays

Participated in a two-day holistic scoring session in which high school seniors essays were assessed
according to levels of competence, clarity, and argumentation.
2013

English 101 Pilot Curriculum


Developed and piloted FYC curriculum focused on genre awareness and multimodal composing under
the direction of Dr. Anne-Marie Hall. Conducted focus groups, attended monthly meetings, and
assessed student work. Program will have widespread implementation by 2015.

2012

Graduate Course Curriculum Development


Worked alongside Dr. Adela C. Licona to research, design, and plan a graduate-level rhetoric course
entitled Gender B(l)ending Rhetorics and the Rhetorical Canon. Course was taught in Spring 2013.
Baseline Study of Writing Data Collection
Gathered samples of student writing for use by the General Education curriculum assessment team.
Superior and Experienced GAT Pilot Program
Selected to participate in a pilot supervisory program for superior-ranked graduate associates in
teaching based on self-assessment and reflection.
WIRe Redesign Project
Recruited to solicit and organize new materials for the University of Arizonas teaching resource
website (WIRe), used by all instructors. Contributed English 102 curriculum for modeling/adapting.

Graduate Teacher Preceptorship Curriculum Redesign


Researched, developed, and presented a revised graduate student teaching-preparation curriculum to
panel of judges, Faculty Supervisors, and Writing Program Administrators.
Writing as Revision (4th Edition) Proofreading
Contracted to proofread and suggest final edits for the University of Arizonas FYC anthology textbook.
Pedagogy Quick Reference Guide
Selected to develop four of my in-class lesson plans for teaching research into a quick reference guide.
Holistic Scoring for Critical Assessment Project, Office of Instruction and Assessment (OIA)
Participated in a holistic scoring project in which essays from upper-level history students were
assessed for levels of critical thinking and writing across disciplines.

Event Coordination
2014 Co-Chair, New Start Summer Program Academic Conference
Planned, designed materials, and organized New Start Summer Programs annual Academic
Conference. Developed theme, promoted event, conducted abstract-writing workshops, selected and
organized panels, and coordinated with Room Scheduling to ensure a seamless experience.
2013- Co-Chair, Writing Program Awards Ceremony
2014 Planned the undergraduate portion of annual Awards Ceremony for the UA Writing Program. Solicited
and organized over 100 student submissions, planned department-wide student essay judging contest,
invited speakers, and created and performed the script.
2011- Co-Chair, New Directions in Critical Theory Conference
2012 Developed and executed the English Departments annual graduate student conference. Secured
enough funding to invite national keynote speakers, hold welcome event, organize two-day conference,
and host a fully-catered reception for over 100 people.

Border Programs Assistant/Translator, Environmental Education Exchange


Organized the first bicultural Border-Wide Environmental Education Conference in Ciudad Jurez,
Mexico. Translated Punto Verdes Escuelas para la Sustentabilidad, a middle-school science curriculum,
and adapted Todava Sirve Para Algo, a Tucson Recycles program, for schools in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
