Our Mission:
The mission of Health Protection and Education Services (HPES) is to detect and prevent diseases; refer clients to appropriate entities when needed; educate clients on healthy lifestyles; and educate future doctors in preventative medicine. On behalf of the families we serve and the future doctors and nurses we educate, thank you for your generosity.

Volunteering With Health Protection and Education Services


HPES and the diverse families we serve benefit enormously from a variety of volunteer time and skills. Are you a doctor or nurse? A future nurse? A born organizer? Do you have two hours per month to donate to make follow up phone calls or mail postcards to screening clients? If you have the time, HPES will benefit from your talent.

Volunteer Work with a Board Committee

Development: Assist in coordinating all aspects of friend-raising.

Finance: Use your skills to improve our bottom line. Program: Help families meet their health potential with input into medical screening operations through innovative programming.

Volunteer to work on a Saturday once per month at the University City Library 2013 dates:
January 19 February 16 March 16 April 20 May 18 June 15 August 17 September 21 October 19 November 16

Outreach: Spreading the news to those in need.

Marketing: Create ways to communicate the success of HPES to others. Design a website. Design a newsletter. Be a speaker.

Ways to help...

Serve refreshments: To those who have just completed their screenings, including those who have fasted for testing. Provide cooking demonstrations of healthy eating. Education Program: Provide one-on-one information for clients preparing for a healthy life with brochures about cardiovascular disease, diabetes, exercise, etc.

Greet new and returning clients Register clients Take Health Histories: You do not need to be a doctor or nurse but training is necessary Provide an exit interview for for those who have completed health screenings Be a runner for the Lipid Profile test. (Wellyou dont run. Deliver test results to the doctors)
