 Dhirubhai Ambani was born 2 Hirachand Gordhandhas Ambani & Jamnaben. Hirachand Gordhandhas Ambani was village school teacher wid small income. Hirachand & Jamanaben had 2 daughters Trilochanaben & Jasuben & 3 sons Ramnikbhai, Dhirubhai & Natubhai. Jamnaben once asked Dhirubhai & Ramnikbhai 2 assistance his father by earning money. Then he started setting up onion/potato stall at village fairs & prepared extra money that he gave 2 his mother.

LIFE HISTORY

Dhirubhai started off as small time worker wid Arab merchants within 1950s & went 2 Mumbai within 1958 2 begin his own business within spices. After creating modest profits, he went in2 textiles & opened his mill near Ahmadabad. Dhirubhai founded Reliance Industries within 1958.

Manjin Commercial Corporation

Dhirubhai Ambani returned from Yemen to India and started "Majin" in partnership with Champaklal Damani, his second cousin. Majin was to import polyester yarn and export spices to Yemen. The first office of the Reliance Commercial Corporation was set up at the Narsinatha Street in Masjid Bunder. It was a 350 sq ft (33 m2) room with a telephone, one table and three chairs. Initially, they had two assistants to help them with their business. During this period, Dhirubhai and his family used to stay in a one-bedroom apartment at the Jai Hind Estate in Bhuleshwar, Mumbai.
