I want to start by saying thank you to all of you for your help in making our book fair and cookie dough sale a success! We raised over $2500 for our school, and I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication. We are extremely lucky at the Campus School to have such wonderful parental support! We will begin our new study in April on Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Our Recycling Fair was such a success last year that we are going to do it again this year! Students can make any art project of any kind at home out of recycled material. They will also do a class project that will be displayed. Our Recycling Fair will be on Monday, April 22nd, on Earth Day.

May will be a very exciting month! We will have our Carol Merrill Dance and Gymnastics Recital on Sunday, May 5th, at 3:00 p.m. at Bibb Graves Auditorium. Rehearsal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3rd, is mandatory for all who will be participating. Our big End of the Year Program will be on Thursday, May 23rd, that morning at Wallace Hall auditorium. This will include all Campus School students, and we will be highlighting the Kindergarten class as they graduate from the Campus School. We are so excited about our upcoming Summer Program. Make sure your registration forms and money are in so that your child is on our roll. Next months newsletter will have a sneak peek of all the fun activities that we have planned!

March was a busy month! We learned all about trees, took a tree walk and used our magnifying glasses to explore the campus, learned what deciduous and evergreen means, learned about St. Patricks Day and shamrocks, discussed what is harmful and helpful to trees, had soccer lessons, celebrated Juliannes birthday party at her house with a petting zoo, had SWAP with Dr. Minears class, and learned what animals live in trees. We even built a leprechaun trap but did not catch that sneaky leprechaun. He messed up our rooms, left green footprints on our tables, and left treats scattered all over the floor! We also went on an Egg Hunt at Circle S Ranch and had so much fun. The Easter Bunny even showed up! In April, we will be wrapping up our tree unit and starting our Reduce, Reuse, Recycle unit. We will attend a performance of the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, take a field trip to Carol Merrills studio, and have our annual Recycling Fair. We will also have volleyball lessons in April. Please sign up for email updates on our blog to keep up with our busy lives at www.ahootofak4class.blogspot.com!

I hope everyone had a great spring break! March was full of fun. We studied about trees and learned that there are evergreen and deciduous trees. We learned about the parts of the trees also. We had a field trip to Juliannes house to visit a petting zoo. Well, that sneaky leprechaun visited our school and made a mess! We decided not to be too mad since he left us treasures and candy. We also visited the Circle S Farms and had an egg hunt, where we met the Easter Bunny. This month we will continue to learn about trees and then begin our Reduce, Reuse, Recycle unit. Happy Spring!

March came in like a lion and left like a lamb. We were so busy; the month really went by super fast. Your support during our cookie dough sale and book fair are greatly appreciated. There were so many activities surrounding those events and your help made each one of them possible. We enjoyed going on our field trip to the Circle S Ranch in Kewanee, Mississippi and SWAP with Dr. Minears senior class. In April, we will continue to study trees. Along with the tree unit, we will also explore weather, spring, and Earth Day. Last year, we made trash projects to show how much fun recycling can be. We will do this again this year. Please continue to watch for updates on our blog. Again, thanks so much for your continued support of the school. Check us out on our blog @ preciousthrees.blogspot.com.
