Minutes from the committee meeting of Digbeth Residents Association (DRA) and Neighbourhood Watch on Monday 11th March

2013 at 6pm in the Old Crown restaurant. 1. Roll Call and Apologies Present: Joe Holyoak, John Gordon, Pamela Pinski. Apologies: Gabriela Butler, Lisa Zdravkovic, Val Woodward. 2. Approval of Minutes Corrections were made to the minutes, but as the meeting was not quorate, they were not approved. The January 2013 minutes will be approved at the next committee meeting. 3. Matters arising None. 4. Police Report and Neighbourhood Watch News Police have confirmed that there will be two uniformed officers at the entrance of each establishment on St Patricks Day. Patrons will be prevented from entering premises between 16:00 to 18:00 in a bid to remove potential trouble-makers. John has already requested this years Police event report to aid in the planning of next years event. There have been changes to the Digbeth Neighbourhood Policing Team Pam will request more information from PC Phil Bates. Action PP 5. Any Other Business a. Litter This has become more of a problem in Digbeth recently, both on the streets and within developments. Local charity Envision recently undertook a clean-up of the streets (read more online), but DRA needs to do more to address the problem. A plan of action has been drawn up and will be implemented in the coming months. b. St Patricks Day Festival DRA has a walking group registered to take part in the parade; all members have been encouraged to participate. Pamela will tweet like from the event to document our activity. c. Eastside City Park opening John, Joe and Pamela all hope to attend this event on 16th March. All DRA members have been made aware of the opening, and we hope more will also be present on the day. d. Duddeston Viaduct Development This project has come into some difficulties, and unfortunately is unlikely to go ahead. e. HS2 Community Forum Meeting Joe plans to attend the next HS2 Community Forum meeting on 19th March for DRA. 6. Date and Time of Next Meetings The next committee meeting will be held on Monday 13th May 2013 at 6pm in the Old Crown restaurant, High Street Digbeth. The next open meeting will be held on Monday 8th April 2013 at 6pm in the Old Crown restaurant, High Street Digbeth.
