Registration opens for the Summer Reading Program. Come and meet our SRC Coordinator! Parents or Guardians must fill in and sign a form requesting their day and time choice. Join the Teen Drop-in on Tuesdays. Lots of engaging and fun activities. Call to find out more about this free program. (Program finishes at the end of June) 100 Mile House Branch Library is hosting a Fathers Day Craft program for children 5-12 years old. Pre-Registration is required. Fun, active Wii games on the big screen for youth ages 8-13yrs. Must pre-register by 2 p.m. each Wed. (Programme finishes at the end of June) Legend of a Warrior - Frank Lee doesnt just practise martial arts; for his many students and fans, Frank Lee is martial arts. His status as a legendary street fighter and world-renowned coach has kept him at a distance from his son, Coreybut now the younger Lee would like to reconnect with his mighty dad. Williams Lake Library Branch will be having Storytime at Kiwanis Park every Friday in June, near the Gazebo (in the childrens section of the library if the weather is poor). 100 Mile House Branch Library will be hosting an all ages puppet show. We Were Children - In recognition of Aboriginal Day on June 21 the 100 Mile House Branch is screening this National Film Board production. This film gives voice to a national tragedy and demonstrates the incredible resilience of the human spirit. The profound impact of the residential school system is conveyed unflinchingly through the eyes of two children who were forced to face hardships beyond their years. Best Animated Short Films for Kids and Crafts - In recognition of Aboriginal Day on June 21, the Williams Lake Library Branch will be having National Film Board Screenings of the best films for kids and crafts for Aboriginal Day. Please register at front desk by Thu. June 20, 4 p.m. Free admission. Hard Light - This feature film uses Michael Crummeys seminal piece of Newfoundland literature to examine cultural change and modern relationships. As in Crummeys collection of poems and stories, there is a decisive theme of the artist investigating his ancestors to discover himself. Filmmaker Justin Simms offers viewers a timely reflection on compassion, storytelling and identity. Williams Lake Library Branch continues to provide fun active Wii games on the big screen for youth ages 8-13yrs. Must pre-register by 2 p.m. each Wed. Williams Lake Library Branch will be having Storytime at Kiwanis Park every Friday in June, near the Gazebo (in the childrens section of the library if poor weather) Watch for our Summer Reading Float in the Stampede Parade and come by our Booth at the Street Party to learn about the library and make a bookmark and more! Look for our Summer Reading Booth at the Canada Day Celebrations held at the 108 Mile Heritage Site. Come by our table to learn about the CRD library. Its the opportunity of a lifetime for artist Phil Richards, whos been commissioned to create Canadas official portrait of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for her Diamond Jubilee.
