June 27, 2013 Dear Members of the Greenville County Republican Party Executive Committee: This letter is not easy for me to write to you. This morning I tendered my resignation, effective immediately, as Chairman of the Greenville County Republican Party to South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Matt Moore. In following the rules of the state party, I am also tendering my resignation to you, the Executive Committee of the Greenville County Republican Party. An opportunity has arisen for me that you will hear about in much more detail in the next few weeks that will preclude me from serving in the capacity as a party chairman. I want to thank the Greenville County Republican Party for your trust and confidence in me and my leadership over the past two years. We have accomplished much together. From continuing to stand strong on our partys platform, holding our elected officials accountable, and leading the fight for Registration by Party to co-hosting an Upstate presidential forum that set the stage for the real primary contest, raising several thousand dollars for our Party and fielding a large slate of primary and general candidates in the 2012 election cycle, we have truly earned our place as the most conservative party in the state of South Carolina. As you read this letter, you may wonder what happens next. I believe in honoring the systems and procedures we have in place. The Greenville County 1st Vice Chairman will call and conduct the meeting in such a time as is appropriate, with the proper amount of notice to each of you, so that much consideration and deliberation can be given to the election of my successor. The Greenville County Republican Party has much work to do to win in 2014 and beyond. I am confident that our party will succeed. It has truly been an honor to serve as your chairman. The friendships cultivated and relationships developed with hard-working, dedicated grassroots activists like you will be something I will always cherish. Sincerely,

Betty S. Poe

Chairman, Greenville County Republican Party
