The RPK sent a letter clearly stating their position that the CCRP Executive Committee and Officers are legitimate. This validates the CCRP in the face of attempts by a small group of tea party members and a local clerk to hijack elections and take over the County GOP. The CCRP chairman welcomes putting this issue behind them to work with those who want to move forward within the established rules.

    Campbell County GOP Affirmed by State GOP

    Campbell County Republican Party Executive Committee Is Official GOP Leadership

    The CCRP is pleased to announce that the Republican Party of Kentucky has affirmed the existence and
    legitimacy of our Executive Committee and Officers. The attached letter from RPK clearly states the
    position of the Republican Party regarding our committee.

    We realize that this nonsense stemmed from a small group of tea party members and Circuit Court Clerk
    Taunya Nolan Jack in their attempts to highjack the fall election and take over the County GOP by the
    local Tea Party.

    Furthermore, we feel sorry for the innocent people that have been misled by this clandestine act of
    selfishness and self-promotion. Thats not what we are about in Campbell County.

    We expect our members to follow the rules and support our general election candidates if they want to
    serve in leadership - nothing more, nothing less.

    Our executive committee welcomes the opportunity to get this behind us and work with those that
    want to move forward and understand the rules.
