Student Payments & Excursion Notices There has been a letterbox placed on the bench near the student microwaves (canteen) for students to submit all payments and permission slips. All envelopes MUST have; Student Name, Home Group, Permission Form enclosed (if applicable) Reason for Payment Students are asked to use this letterbox for all future payments or permission forms. Please do not send payments or permission forms in your home group folder. Payments must be made by the day indicated on the notice. No payments after 4.00 pm will be accepted. Excursion Permission Notices Permission forms are now available on eWorkspace. Wyndham Division Athletics A list of students who have qualified for the Wyndham Division Athletics Competition to be held on August 27th is on eWorkSpace. Trainings will be held after school on Friday 16th, Tuesday 20th and Friday 23rd of August. Permission forms will be made available soon. Rugby 7s Training Rugby 7s Training will take place on Friday at lunch time on the multi-purpose field. Knitting Club Knitting Club to be held every Friday lunchtime in G 1. Everyone is welcomed. Bring your knitting and we also have knitting needles and wool for people who just want a go. Drama Performance Could all students who expressed interest in being part of a drama group (with Miss Ladd, Miss Tait and Miss Moore) please meet in T1 at the beginning of lunch on Thursday. We will be assigning parts, distributing scripts and scheduling rehearsal times. If you are unable to attend on Thursday, please email Miss Moore a.s.a.p. Intermediate Girls Basketball Training will be held in the gym on Thursday at lunchtime. Please bring runners. Co-Curricular Semester 2 Starts Next Monday (August 12) Next Monday, August 12, the Semester 2 Co-Curricular program begins.

Current Co-Curricular Semester 2 Selections were placed in the home group for all year 9 classes, a pdf is also attached to the announcement placed on eWorkspace. If students wish to make any changes to their selections please see Mr Drummond at recess on Wednesday or lunchtime on Thursday in room S5. As some programs are full or near capacity it is important that you see Mr Drummond at either of these times.

Creative Writing Lunchtime sessions start Thursday this week. Open to anyone who is interested. To be held every Thursday of Week A. Ms Bradwell Poetry Writing Workshop To start next Monday 12th August, open to anyone. To be held every Monday in Week B. Ms Bradwell 40 HOUR FAMINE Staff and students are asked to support the students who are raising funds for the 40 Hour Famine. A number of activities have been organised over the next two weeks. You can also sponsor one of the participants or make your donations through the 40 Hour Famine website (make sure you use the links to donate to our team total) COLLECTION TINS Year nine Home Group Captains have been and are continuing to collect your spare change and donations in the Agora during recess and lunchtime. Donations will be counted on a House basis to see who can raise the most funds. PLEDGE WALL As of today you may make a pledge in support of those who are making the full 40 Hour sacrifice . On the walls outside T8 you will find a House Banner where you may make a 12 Hour, 24 hour or 40 Hour pledge to give up something that you value. It may be food, (or a specific food eg no energy drinks, coffee or chocolate) texting, furniture, TV. You cannot pledge to give up school work or homework unless you are prepared to have it done beforehand. In making the pledge you are asked to make a donation to your House collection tin.

HUNGER TOWN CHALLENGE The Hunger Town Challenge is an app. on your iphone and replicates the challenge our student leaders took at the convention. We will run a challenge for each House in the week 12 th -16th August and then the four winners will play off for the title of Hunger Town Champion. Sign up for your House on the sheets near the canteen. MOVIE On Friday the 16th of August there will be a movie(title to be announced) in the auditorium at 3:30 you are asked for a gold coin donation and popcorn will be available for purchase. Students will require a permission form to attend as it is outside of school hours. These will be available soon. PYJAMA DAY Also on Friday the 16th we are running a PYJAMA Day. Students are able to wear their pyjamas for a gold coin donation. This is not an out of uniform day it is pyjamas or uniform. It is recommended that students wear suitable clothing on public transport and change into their pyjamas at school. Also be mindful of what is suitable as PUBLIC sleeping attire.

We hope you will support your House but more importantly the starving children in Malawi. Remember every $40 will feed a family of 6 for a month. Thank You, 40 Hour Famine Team Subject Selection All students will be receiving their paper subject selection forms this week. The online subject selection is now open and will remain open until Friday 9th August. The link will be on eWorkspace. Students are reminded that they have to submit their selections online print out their final selections and submit this with their coloured paper form to the main office by Friday 9th August. Student Emergency Contact Details All students should have received emergency contact details and the end of last term, along with a yellow sheet attached to the front. Students please return these to the General Office as soon as possible should there be any changes. Students are required to return this yellow slip even if there are no changes to be made. If you have misplaced your yellow slip, additional copies have been placed in your home group folder, tick lists have been placed in home group folders to follow up. Hockey Training Hockey training for the intermediate boys and girls teams will be on at lunchtime on today and Thursday 8th August. Please bring your runners and mouthguards and shin pads if you have them. Senior players are welcome to join in if they wish.
