Successfully recruited manufacturing facility (C/D2 Enterprises) that resulted in over $1.5 million of capital investment and creation of 15+ high wage iobs. Oversaw grant-writing efforts that produced $823,000 of revenue to the City. Assembled preliminary plans for development of multi-million dollar logistics facility (Inland Port) in cooperation with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF), Majestic Realty, and Hanna Commercial Capital. Oversaw City support activities for a private sector-led initiative to redevelop the City's Red Rock Park into a recreation and entertainment magnet venue, including negotiations with developers and investors (the project is still in planning and development stage). In partnership with other leadership team members, formulated and implemented a housing development strategy for this dynamic nonprofit corporation dedicated to ending homelessness through the development of affordable housing and the provision of programs to rehabilitate, empower and reintegrate the homeless into society. Secured over $700,000 of funding through drafting of successful grant applications (e.g., SAMHSA, NAHASDA). Developed and maintained an effective grantsmanship database of resources potentially accessible for affordable housing and related programs.

Northwest New Mexico Council of Governments (NWNMCOG) Regional Planner

2004-2007

Served on the COG's regional planning team to implement a planning and technical assistance program in service to 9 municipal and county governments and to develop and manage a portfolio of state, federal and private grants and contracts. Served as the COG's lead transportation planner, including developing, executing, and overseeing the region's Long-Range Transportation Plan and provided primary staffing support to the Northwest Regional Planning Organization's technical committee, under a multi-year contract with the New Mexico Department of Transportation. Assisted in developing and implementing the COG's 5-year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) under multi-year contract from the federal Economic Development Administration. Developed strong working knowledge of the legislative process in New Mexico and provided technical assistance to local governments and stakeholders in developing and tracking legislative proposals. Served as primary architect of two successful CDBG applications that were awarded a total of $1 million. Successfully negotiated a multi-jurisdictional agreement resulting in the development and implementation of a regional transit system in Cibola County, New Mexico.
