New Opportunities!!!
African Ministry- A new ministry is forming through one of our African members,
James Akinade, who has a heart for reaching out to African immigrants in Hampton Roads. Visit this ministry on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm in Crossroads 109 or join them for an outreach event.

Luke 3:11- Join our members as they regularly take meals and material goods to the
homeless on the streets of Hampton Roads. For more information contact Jim and Terry Freeman at: terryandjim@verizon.net.

Cuffee XP- Chesapeake Fellowship is gearing up to start a new year of ministry at the
Cuffee Community Center on Sept. 18! Our schedule will be the same as last year: 4:306:30 every Wednesday. We will have a planning meeting at the Albrittons house on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m.

St. Marys home for children- Yet another Big Serve event has taken on a life
of its own! Join this great team as they seek to provide a worship experience for these children in need.

Park Place Health & Dental Clinic- Welcome Brian Jones, new Executive
Director, to the Park Place Clinic by contacting him for a tour and to learn about the many opportunities for service in one of Norfolks most marginalized areas. Call Brian at 965-4224 or by emailing bjones@parkplaceclinic.org.

Ongoing Ministries:
Multi-housing ministries- Join our members at the Gosnold and Bobbitt
apartments as they serve with these residents. Many other life groups and individuals have ministries at area retirement homes such as Chesapeake Place as well.

Vietnamese ministry- Join this growing opportunity that our church has to
impact a people globally by reaching out to those who live right here in Hampton Roads.

Hispanic Ministry- Our Hispanic ministry has many plans for reaching out through
home bible studies, work at the Harvard apartments, and on the Eastern Shore. Contact Pastor Suarez for the latest updates at vsuarez@firstnorfolk.org

Crisis Pregnancy Center- Opportunities abound on a regular basis with this

Judeo Christian Outreach Center- Join our Young at Heart team on the third
Thursday of every month in serving at this homeless shelter or consider leading a bible study for the residents of this institution at another time. For more information visit www.jcoc.org.

Soupkitchen Outreach in Ghent- Join this group of students and adults on the
fourth Sunday of each month for an opportunity to reach out to the least of these in Norfolk. For more information contact Darryl Meincke at papameincke@yahoo.com

Project Comfort (sewing ministry)- the ladies of project comfort continue to


prepare and deliver projects for cancer patients, military, and other groups who need their gifts. Contact Lynette Hare at lhare@firstnorfolk.org for more info.

Good News Jail & Prison Ministry - Looking for male volunteers. They need
two people to distribute literature on Thursday mornings. Cell to cell visitation for men there are two areas that have no one ministering to them at all. Looking for participants on the Chaplaincy Support Team that meets once a month for one hour.
