The College was started in the sacred memory of sh. Rana
Padam Chandra of Jubbal as a Degree college 1945. On
December 14, 1957 the local B.M College was merged with it
under orders of the Punjab Government. The college was
renamed as Rana Padam Chandera sanata Dharam Bhargava
College. This institute was affiliated to the Punjab University in
all Arts subjects for intermediate and degree classes in arts and
science subjects (Med, Non-Med) for the intermediate and in
Physics and Chemistry for B.Sc.
The College was also affiliated for M.A Classes in
Economics, Mathematics and Political Sc. Arrangements for
teaching of military science existed and N.C.C platoon was also
attached to this college.
The college was under the management of Sh. Santana
Dharma Pratinidhi Sabha, New, and Delhi. It was the brain
chield, Late Sh. Tyang Murti Goswami Gnaesh Dutt Ji Maharaja
a great Saint Seer and exponent of the internal truth enshrined
in the ancient Santanist scriptures and about disciple of Pandit
Madan Mohan Malviya.
It was rightly remarked by Dr. B.D Loroya of Delhi
University about the institution.
If the college grows up in the same tradition in which it is
being built up new.
I have own doubt, it shall count one day amongst the best
institution of the land
Rana Padam Chandra Snatan Dharam College was taken over
by Himachal Paradesh Govt. in 1977.
