DEENA BANDU HERMITAGE

The Hermitage was started by Indian freedom fighter

in 1950 at “RANIPET” with 12 Children. The hermitage
was initially started with a motive of providing the
basic needs such as food and shelter.

The school was started in 1956 with the aim of

promoting literacy for these children. The name of the
school is “GANDHI MISSION VIDYALAYA”.

The school was relocated to “WALAJA” by Honorable

Police minister Mr. KAKKAN who was presented the
Honorable chief minister of Mr. KAMARAJAR
government ministry. This school was founded by
Mr. ANANTHACHARIYAR.
This hermitage was managed by the

Now the hermitage completed 66 Years.

In this school totally 275 children were present.

Day scholar - 145 members

Hosteller - 129 members (Both Sex)
In this school 6 Years to 18 Years age children were
residing to get literacy.

The “ GANDHI MISSION VIDHYALAYA” has been the

facilitated for getting literacy level from 1st standard
to 8th standard .
They were facilitating to get free higher education
from nearby Government school.

The hermitage providing free and good quality of

basics needs like Food , Cloths , Accommodation
for their residential students.

The hermitage have 10 Staff and 30 Volunteers have

take all the work in the hermitage.
The student studying in the school our thought by
Teachers have been completed Master Degree Holder.

In this school they were providing free Textbooks&

Uniform for their student getting literacy.

Till now in the school around 9,500 students were

benefitted and now they are in good position in their
society.

The hermitage and school provide many facilities to

Students such as Purified drinking water, clean toilet
and good Environment for students.

They were teaching good habit and good culture and

also They were successfully to providing Yoga training
to the students.
The hermitage were treating their students and all
equally without any religious and language partiality
to all aspects.

The special quality of the institution very proud to the

whole “VELLORE” District.
MISSION :
This hermitage were providing free Food,
Cloths, Accommodation and Education literacy for
the orphanage children’s.

VISION :
The main aim of this hermitage is to upgrade
the modern concrete building, Spacious residential,
safety standards of school, training classes and
medical treatment for children’s.
FUND :
The hermitage was running by receiving funds
from publics , individuals , philanthropists managed
funds and government welfare departments.

This institution was include in the

“RESEARCH PROGRAMME FOR THE CHILD
NUTRITION” conducted by the “ Christian
Medical College Hospital-Vellore (CMC)”
during the period 1965 to 1972
 1. Securing Awards For Excellence In
Teaching:
Head Master of “GANDHI MISSION VIDHAYALAYA”
aided Middle school, Sri. K . RANGANATHAN had been
honoured with various awards like Best Teacher
Award in 2002 from TN Government “SHIKSHA SHREE
RATAN – 2008” at New Delhi.

2.Eminent political personalities

including big leaders and former chief
ministers, pontiffs and religious heads
visited the hermitage and blessed the
children.
CONCLUSION :
Based on doing this project “I”
promise that, I will insist peoples, myself and
my neighborhoods to support for this type of
Orphanage homes.
