With mini- mal funding, Dorris could fill-in both as President and Office Manager. However, greater progress can be made and more accomplished efficiently with adequate staff, The completion of the Integratron requires an Assistant Director of R&D who, therefore, should have the same salary priority as the President & Director, Other administrative costs such as security, maintenance, utilities, etc. h ~ v e not been included in this forecast. 5 l What is Eyeless Sight? (Who Can Do It? Does it Work?) by Edwin L. Motter Born during a blizzard, on a sand farm in northern Okla- homa in December, 1918, I was delivered by my dad. I was a kindergartener when my right eye was damaged by a stick and three years later I lost the use of my remaining good eye. I was stripping the hardened sap from the trunk of a cherry tree, my knife slipped and cut my left eye wide open. Specialists said the optic nerves were destroyed, and restoration of sight would be impossible. V/hen my dad was eighty, in 1961, he read an article to me written by a well-known columnist which told about a man William A. Foos of Virginia, who had taught his sixteen- year-old daughter, Margaret, to "see" while completely blindfolded. Intrigued, though skeptical, we were deter- mined to verify the story. Having a couple of weeks be- fore my schoolwork started in September, we decided to visit Ray Sewell, a blind young man with whom Bill Foos had spent some time teaching his method for learning eye- less sight. Ray and his parents welcomed us into their West Virginia home where he, his wife and little girl were living. During the few days spent with him, Ray taught me the training method developed by Bill. It con- sists of sitting at a small table completely blindfolded opposite the instructor. The teacher first graspsthe pupil's wrist and slowly moves his own hand back and forth across in front of his blindfold, all the while telling him to watch the hand as it moves. Most people get an eerie feeling upon realizing they can actually detect a shadow or in some instances a bright spot moving before their eyes. Following the initial shock, they almost in- variably begin to rationalize with such expressions as -- "Of course, I know where it is; it's my own hand." But finally they admit it was more than merely a knowing; it was actually seeing a vague image. It is essential that this first be firmly established before further progress can be accomplished. A positive attitude is maintained at all times. Negativ- ism will stifle progress. Observing one's own hand in front of his face is necessary as a foundation upon which to build the more difficult steps. Next, the instructor holds his own hand in front of the subject's face, always describing every move he makes 6 while constantly assuring the person that he can see the hand and knows where it is. He then moves his hand slow- ly and rhythmically to the subject's right and then left, while keeping up a running commentary as follows: "My hand is directly in front of your face and you can see it. Now I'm moving my hand to your right 1 now in front of your face to the left, back to your right, back and forth, back and forth. Now I have stopped it. Reach up and slap my hand.N In the early stages it is essential that the subject act on impulse. First impressions are usually right. With each success, the pupil gains more confidence and accuracy. Later, the operator stops his hand in front of the subject's face, brings it down in a straight line to one of three positions directly in front of the personas belt buckle, to his left or to his right. The instructor says: "I have stopped my hand in front of your face: now I am bringing it down in a straight line. Now it is stopped, reach out and hit it:" Correct scores are far higher than chance. Next, pupil and teacher move to the small table mentioned earlier. Until now they have been standing. They sit facing each other across the card table. This time the operator holdsan object (often a cotton ball) in his hand while passing it back and forth in front of the subject 0 s face. He then stops it directly in front of the persons eyes, brings it slowly down to the table in a straight line and places it on the table in one of three positions --middle, left or right. Upon command without hesitation, the subject reaches out and picks up the cotton balL This procedure is repeated many, many times. Later, two more objects are introduces, such as a comb and wallet or anything handy at the moment. Each object is put through the same routine and eventually placed on the table. The instructor tells what the object is, but does not tell at which of the three positions he is placing it. After all have been placed on the table; he will say, "Now hand me the wallet, now the cotton ball, and now the comb:' Successes are lavi$hly praised while seeming failures are played down. Later, letters on blocks are used, such as are found in the game of Scrabble. The subject actually learns to "see" the letters and pick them out. With the encouragement of the Foos Family, I deigned to try. After considerable practice, the letter called for would stand out like a small light from all the others. "Seeing"for the first time in forty-three years was extremely excit- ing to me. I just sat and drank it in for awhile 7 Dr. Paul Richard (pronounced Ri-shard), a French philoso- pher came to the u. s. to observe Margaret firsthand, and to formulate his theory: "The sense organs of the body are limiting factors. The ear permits only an extremely short range of the total range of vibrations to be received, thus permitting the listener to hear various pitches within the audio portion of the spectrum. Likewise, the eye limits one's vision to certain vibrations on the total spectrum. If the eye were fixed in the head and the head not allowed to turn, the lateral vision would be limited to thirty degrees more or less. Thus, a limit- ing organ, the eye, enables the individuaJ . ~ o see color, shapes and sizes of objects. If this limitation should be removed through disease, accident, or artificially b ~ use of a blindfold, the individual is said to be blind. Actu- ally, the contrary is true. Rather than being cast into darkness, the person is plunged into total vision and be- cause he sees everything, he sees nothing. Until the sculptor puts his chisel to the stone or wood, the object is without definition. Inadvertently, Bill Foos was sub- stituting a psychical immitation for the physical limita- tion--in this instance the eye--which h:ad been either p e ~ manently or temporarily removed. It should be understood that the preceding is only a theory and not necessarily the true explanation. But it is . food for thought. NOTE: We admire Eddie's brand of courage Do you want more articles like this? Please let us know. Margaret Foos, where are you? We lost track a long while ago! Are you getting YOUR Proceedings? Uranium Ore Wastes Abandoned There are abandoned industrial sites along Interstate 15 and only 4 miles from downtown Salt:Lak.e City, They look harmless behind rusty fences, Radioactive residue is lo- cated here and it is unlabeled,,,for anyones use, That's why it presents problems, There are at least 22 more of these abandoned mills in western states; each of them do represent a hazardous and long-neglected legacy of Amer- ica's push into the nuclear age. The ores have concentrations of activity that are not at all harmless. In fact, the material is death dealing, A lot of the buildings and homes of Colorado and Utah had foundations made from these materials!! The occupants are completely unaware. It is considered improper or it is politically inconvenient to mention the subject Debris of any nuclear era, ,whether it is within our own period of time or in the time of Mu and Atlant.is,.caused deadly problems!! ------ In 1961 I noted many lovely centers in Yucatan were left abandoned without any explanation, I believe the wise ones of the past ages recognized radiation and departed, knowing . 11 I DEATH IS A TEACHING iYLUU.am l3a1i.aAd There are many questions to ask ourselves when we are on the Spiritual Path. Do we grieve for ourselves, or for our loved ones? They certainly do not need our grief for they have been released or "recalled" from this heavy dense, material plane. They are now in transition, free and able to function unfettered. They are vibrating at a much higher rate of speed than on the mortal plane. Though you cannot see them perhaps, they can see you. Just as we do not see the blades of an electric fan when it is running, so we also oo not see our loved ones out of accustomed rate. They are no longer slowed down by the weight of a dense and material body. The mortal form has a slower vibration and is in the range of our mortal vis- ion where we see with mortal eyes. "There is no death." Remember this ani firmly fix it in your state of conscious- ness. The finality of death is just not final. Centuries of teachings deliberately programmed tha;t we are to accept and fear death. We were not to question or to wonder about the happenings. Do you think, do you fear a changing rate of vibration or the pattern we often think of in our times as a "RECALL." Sometimes such a change of vibration permits one to be of greater usefulness. Restrictions of the body are gone and the shifting from one phase to another is simplified. Many thus have the joy of helping to complete a Spiritual Program that was started by another when this transition takes place and the baton is transferred. That which was not completed yesterday may be finished tomorrow, by another. "We all stand on the shoulders of past generations." Always there is a right moment for every plan. Tomorrow fits well into eternity which is not fixed, is not far off. Every minute, every hour of every day becomes a part of the great Eternal NOW. I t ~ an Eternal Now that is helping to continue an activ- ity or a project started by one "recalled'' into another vibration. Pioneers are mighty souls who demonstrate a very "Special Mission." Others have the simpler task of starting a ball to roll or keeping it rolling, as I'd like to do with this idea. 12 I Our world especially needs pioneers -- the bright ones -- the shining ones with dedication and desire to help human- ity. They are strong leaders who have special foresight and initiative to give us a glimpse of the future, which seems always over the hill and beyond our understandings. It is good to know that all is relative, that a future is now starting to happen today. Soon it will be the beginning of that past we call tomorrow. The tides of life come in, and the tides of life go out. The waves reach for the shore and the strong ones touch the highest cliff. The pattern is repeated - incarnation to incarnation and on again. We must reach for a state of perfection in any endeavor - no matter how trivial it seems for it is in this way that we perfect ourselves through mastery of primary grades. We climb the spiral staircase and learn that the magic is a simple rule of climb. Part of the mastery is fulfilling obligations. An obligation is really an unpaid debt.which, until it is brought into balance with this life, has to be recognized as an unpaid responsibility, and thus an imperfect aspect of living, Now. I see that debts no matter how incurred must be dissolved or brought into balance by word, deed or monetary stipend. It matters little the An obligation returns for payment in various and sundry ways until dissolvement of the debt. I feel we owe a debt of gratitude to The Integratron, the wonderful project pioneered by George w. Van Tassel who had the foresight and vision to begin what others may now complete--and which must not go uncompleted-- an electro- static magnetic generator which will benefit mankind. He selected competent people to pass the baton to, but they require our wholehearted assistance, commitment and support to carry this project forward. How can you help with this? Write, please write today and let us know. Miriam L. Ballard, a longtime supporter of this ministry writes from the San Francisco area, though just recover- ing from a severe physical problem. She wanted to share her insights with us and we appreciate so much her brand of enthusiasm and inspiration. 13 flying saucer OFFERED gy: Jo 0 1 CON1veR GRAPHIC CI-IARTS CoMPuTER..
