Fatigue Laws are part of a national strategy introduced to reduce fatigue as a factor workplace fatalities.

General duty of care legislation requires all parties in the supply chain to take all reasonable steps to prevent the fatigue of heavy vehicle drivers. This Program provides participants with a range of strategies, skills and knowledge required to apply the management of fatigue including identifying and acting upon signs of fatigue and implementing appropriate strategies to minimise fatigue during work activities, in accordance with the new national legislative and regulatory requirements.

TLIF2010A APPLY FATIGUE MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES (FATIGUE LEVEL 1) The Fatigue Level 1 course is an introduction to the strategies to minimise fatigue for drivers and operators, and for drivers to recognise own signs of fatigue, take action and make lifestyle choices that reduce the potential for fatigue. WHO SHOULD COMPLETE THIS COURSE? Any person with responsibilities for their own fatigue management (such as drivers) or the fatigue management of other (such as schedulers or supervisors) should complete this course. WHAT ARE THE COURSE OBJECTIVES? Explain the importance of fatigue management; Identify legislation that supports the management of fatigue; Describe the causes, effects and warning signs of fatigue; Follow workplace procedures and practices to manage fatigue; and Select appropriate lifestyle choices to manage fatigue.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE INVOLVE? This is an online course. It includes 8 short modules and 4 assessments that are a combination of online and offline (scenario, case study, short answer and practical).
