PREAMBLE
This document serves as a proposal for a first aid training workshop at [Name of Company].
This highly interactive training workshop provides your employee tools for effective
immediate injury or illness intervention. First aid provides a reduction of severity of injury or
illness in the workplace and often promotes recovery. This could also mean the difference
between life and death, in some cases.

The workshop covers management in first aid situations, CPR, bleeding intervention, and
management of unconscious casualties and other life-threatening situations.

As a business, you have the responsibility to create a safe work environment. And there is a
need to keep your employees up to date to meet the legislative requirements set by the
government. We would highly stress that you must provide training and knowledge in first
aid to all employees. This can also be an excellent team-building exercise and can make
employees feel more connected with fellow co-workers.

Novateur Health is an Occupational Health, Health Services Research and Healthcare
Consulting Firm who have been involved in trainings on First Aid and CPR for the Lagos State
Government. Some of their work has included:

 Training of over 500 civil servants on first Aid and CPR

 Training of 1000 members of the State’s Rapid Response Squad
 Training of about 550 members of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority
(LASTMA)
 Training of Principal members of the Lagos State Executive Committee

Our joint focus is to assist organizations in maintaining healthy and high functioning
personnel who have been trained using international best practices.

JUSTIFICATION
The justification for a training such as this is rife as even in seemingly safe work
environments, accidents happen; people experience cardiac arrests and much more. It would
be a tragedy if for instance someone stopped breathing and no one knew what to do, or
there were no first aid supplies or knowledge to manage injuries and save lives in the
workplace.

It is necessary that we are adequately prepared at all times in order to effectively manage
such situations. Furthermore, in Nigeria, there are approximately 800,000 reported cardiac
arrests every year.

It is imperative that those that work in your offices are adequately trained to save lives using
Basic Life Support and First Aid practices. This is a unique opportunity to save thousands
of lives just by being trained in First Aid and Basic Life Support.

Furthermore, it has been noted that most workers have no practical knowledge of First Aid
and/or CPR and won’t know what to do in case of any emergency therefore, the goal of this
training will be to have Health Captains in every work unit/department.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Basic Life Support training program is a skill transfer process licensed and supervised by
the American Heart Association to offer First Aid to individuals who are bleeding, have

fractures or burns from accidents, drowning, choking etc., as well as conducting
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on individuals with Heart Attacks amongst others.

This training will require the provision of training materials like adult and child mannequins,
HeartStart FRx Trainer, HeartStart Fr3, Practi-Valve Training Vale, AED Training pads,
instructional manuals, writing materials etc.

Cost is charged on a “per-head” basis and covers facilitators’ fees, provision of training
materials, instructional manuals, certificates, and light refreshments.

TRAINING SESSIONS
Our training sessions are meticulously planned by our trainer and are designed in a manner
geared toward the maximization of efficiency. Your time is valuable, and so is ours, so our
goal is to best prepare you while taking up the least amount of your time possible.

Training sessions will be comprised of both lectures and practical sessions.

COURSE CONTENT
Training will include, but will not be limited to the following:

 Introduction to first aid

 Understanding the aims and objectives of first aid
 How to Heal Burns, Cuts and Injuries
 Identifying Risks in the Workplace
 Appreciating the proper method of assessing emergency situations
 Preparation of first aid kits
 Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
 Practical demonstration and assessment

LENGTH
5 hours of instructor-led training, over a day.

ENROLLMENT
Minimum of five (5) employees can be enrolled for training at any time.

COST & TERMS

N35,000.00 per participant
70% of Total Cost shall be paid at the execution of this proposal
30% shall be paid within 3 days at the conclusion of the training sessions

DATES
To be determined. However, should be communicated at least one week prior to the planned
date of commencement.

TRAINING SITE
Classes may be held at company site/office (on-site) or Connexus Venture’s chosen location
(this may attract additional fees). On-site Training at your location offers you the opportunity
to save significant travel expenses for the employees you wish to have trained and still fulfil
all the formal training recommended in the industry for qualification and certification of
personnel

CANCELLING THE TRAINING SESSIONS

The Client agrees and acknowledges that a change in the schedule may create a significant
burden for the Trainer and thus the Client shall forfeit Thirty Percent (30%) of the amounts
already paid to the Trainer if the Client must cancel the training services within 5 days of the
date on which the training services are to be scheduled.

RECOMMENDATION
An employer must provide equipment and facilities appropriate in the circumstances for
enabling first aid to be rendered to his or her employees if they are injured or become ill at
work. Connexus Ventures can assist with purchasing or replenishing your first aid supplies.

PUBLICITY AND MARKETING

The Client authorizes the Trainer to utilize the Client’s logo and associated trademarks as well
as any media, photos, or footage from the any training session solely for the purpose of
marketing the Trainer’s services.
