My dear People, Last month I told you that a couple gave a substantial contribution enabling us to resume the building work on the sanctuary for the village congregation. This month I am pleased to report that we have received another big gift (all of 5 lakhs) from people who sold their house and decided to give a portion of their tithe for our project. It was with some disappointment and despair that I had said in September that I had reconciled myself to the idea of leaving my pastoral office without finishing the task. It wasnt even a prayer, but our Lord heard the prayer of my heart: the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we dont know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with Gods own will (Rom. 8:26-27, NLT). God is amazing in His grace. Now our sisters and brothers in the village will have a sanctuary for worship and the village schoolchildren will have a hall for various activities. While the building can be finished now, it will still need to be equipped and furnished (electrical fittings, public address system, seating for at least 100). Shobha Massey recovered from dengue. Salomi Tamang completely alright after a scare that her illness was dengue. Srishti Lugun was unwell with an upset stomach. Sweata Lal also had a stomach ailment. Suseela has migraine periodically. Bima, the girl who stays with Suseela, recovered from dengue. Geetu battling respiratory problems and severe coughing brought on by extreme pollution in Beijing. Dorcas, Greg, Yeshaiah and baby Roshini were all down with viral fever Manju Ramachandran recovering from an operation to remove gall bladder stones, was moved to a better run old age home in Madras. Indu came from Germany to take care of her. Mary and James Pearce were granted visas to stay on in India to continue with language studies. Theyre travelling around a lot doing educational stuff. Bunny Phillips and Amrit Modwell waiting for job openings Anshuman Singh back at the keyboard, needs to get a new job at another school. Della feels oppressed and exploited in her present workplace and wants to get a new job. Benaiah Lal escaped unhurt when the petrol tank in his car burst, on the way back from Nainital.
