FROM THE PASTORS

Dear Church Family,

We are now in the last month of the year 2021. Need-

less to give any details of what we all have gone
through because of the pandemic which comes
knocking again. Another power is also knocking on
our doors; the Lord Jesus Christ. We have already
entered into the season of advent. We have yet an-
other opportunity to spend a special time growing
closer to Jesus. In spite of the fears and life-
threatening circumstances, let us not miss the joy of
knowing and experiencing Jesus. Christology is a
huge subject. So, may I draw your attention to one
significant aspect of Christology for your refection –
the mission of Jesus. Luke chapter 4:16-20 is known
as The Nazareth Manifesto. As he read the scroll of
Isaiah, He made a clear declaration of the purpose of
His incarnate birth. He came to preach good news to
the poor. To those who are broken and have nothing.
To those who are helpless and in need. Abject pov-
erty leads to brokenness of the spirit.
Jesus becomes their provider and sustainer. He also
frees those who have imprisoned themselves with
their own thoughts and sinful behavior. Being a pris-
oner of your thought, grief and your helplessness to
come out of it, is something that Jesus can help
with. If you have been blinded by the deception of
the world and are struggling to come out of it, Jesus
can restore you back. And if you are living a life
where you are oppressed in any way – family, job,
health, etc., again Jesus can help you bear it with
grace. The moment we realize our need and help-
lessness and surrender our lives to Jesus, His favor
begins to rest on us. Therefore, as we contemplate
on yet another advent, let it not mere celebrate. The
cakes and clothes have absolutely no significance
unless our lives are surrendered and changed by the
power of Jesus Christ.

wish a meaningful and joyous Christmas to all of
you.

Mrs. Pushpa Singh is going to have her knee
surgery on 8th December.
Pratibha Sharma is expecting her second baby
in December.
