“The Holy Spirit illuminates the
minds of people, makes us yearn for
God, and takes spiritual truth and
makes it understandable to us.”
Last week the Christian community world-
wide celebrated the ‘Pentecost Sunday’.
Traditionally, it is regarded as the birth of the
New Testament Church. It also commemorates
the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles
and the worshippers. The full description of all
these events can be found in Acts of the Apos-
tles. As we read through the New Testament,
we see how the Church began to grow and how
the apostles of Jesus were nurturing the church.
As the church grew all over the world, the diver-
sities also grew. Twenty centuries have gone by
and the church of God is more diverse than ever.
Diversity is a blessing to the church only if the
basic tenets of the Christian faith are not com-
promised with.
The reason I say this is because during the lock-
down I have noticed that several Churches,
preachers and worship leaders have emerged on
FB and YouTube. It can be well understood and
accepted that different churches, preachers,
teachers have their own unique style of presenta-
tion. But what is more important is the content
of the preaching and teaching. Sadly, quite a few
of them are not in line with the scriptures. Their
preaching is empty since they use the scriptures
only as a pretext and persuade the listener with
fallacious teachings. Another observation is that
many of them have dangerously treaded the path
of self praise and glorification. With eye catch-
ing advertisement posters and promos they are
literally ‘marketing’ themselves, surreptitiously.
It is a dangerous trend.
It is important to always remember that dilution
of the Biblical message and the Church tradition
is not diversity. We are open to new ideas and
methods, but will not compromise with the basic
tenets of our faith. We will neither fall a prey to
these new age deceptive preachers and teachers.
Nevertheless, the Church universal is a family of
diverse people. Let us remain united in Jesus
Christ and continue to cherish the diversities.

body ache.
Prabha Prakash had a fall and hurt her head and
feet.
Anureema Nagarkar had separate episodes of
indisposition. (Migraine and stomach pain)
Guru Prasad was suffering from pancreatic pain.
Mrs. Shanthi Prakash had heat stroke and severe
leg pain.
Triza’s husband Sanjay Masih has typhoid and
jaundice. Birthdays in June
