The month of February will soon be here and I am thinking “Where did January go
to?” It seems as though it takes most of January to get over the holidays and get our
lives back on tract, to some sense of normalcy. But it is important that we get back
into some of the disciplines that drive our lives. In the meantime we would do well
to evaluate what we are doing and why we do it. It is imperative that we look at our
spiritual disciplines-prayer life, Bible study habits, and worship to be all that God
desires us to be.
I realize that contending with “Omicron” has caused us to focus on our safety and
health, and rightfully so. But as this virus tends to peak and then wane, we
especially need to be mindful that we still are commanded to “make disciples”. We
have several church members who have not gotten back into the habit of attending
Bible study and worship. Pray for those who are absent, contact them and invite
them to come and join us. At the same time, be aware of those people who have no

from people who essentially say “That prayer was so timely, considering what I
was going through”. In fact one person found the door hanger the same day that his February Calendar 3
father died. He was astonished. We don’t know how God will use and bless these February Birthdays
efforts. Thank you to those of you who have and are participating. God is good!

Our annual Risk Management Meeting will be held on February 6, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. in the Fellowship
Hall. Who should attend? The meeting is for staff and volunteers who work with preschool, children,
youth ministries, Extended Teaching Care, Vacation Bible School workers and drivers. For additional
Life Line Screening, the nation’s leading provider of preventive health screenings, will offer affordable,
non-invasive and painless health screenings at First Baptist Church of Frostproof on Tuesday, February
22, 2022. A package of five screenings to identify risk for stroke, heart disease and other chronic
conditions will be offered and are listed below:
Carotid Artery Screening (Plaque) An ultrasound is performed to screen the carotid arteries for buildup
of fatty plaque.
Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening An Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) test is performed using blood
pressure cuffs on the arms and legs. It is important to screen for PAD because it increases the risk of
coronary artery disease, heart attack, or stroke.
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) An ultrasound is performed to screen the abdominal aorta foe the
presence of an enlargement or aneurysm. AAA can lead to a ruptured aortic artery, which is a serious
medical emergency.
Atrial Fibrillation A 6-lead electrocardiogram (EKG) is performed by placing sensors on the arms and
legs to screen for Atrial Fibrillation.
Osteoporosis Risk An ultrasound is performed to measure the shin bone for abnormal bone mass
density.
These 5 vital screenings are offered for only $139 and takes 60-90 minutes to complete. Register by
